We only have two weeks until Christmas!  Can you believe it?  This time of year is one of my favorites because of holiday traditions.  My family is big on making memories that way.  One of my favorite family traditions is getting together at grandma’s house the Sunday before Christmas.  I have around 20 cousins (I’m starting to lose track) and it is always so fun to hang out and catch up with them.  Grandma always spoils us with tons of desserts.  Seven layer bars is one of our favorites but she makes them special and adds different ingredients to a batch for our liking.  Another favorite tradition I had growing up was that my mom put the Christmas stockings for me and my brother at the end of our beds.  That way it was the first thing we saw when we woke up in the morning.  We’d get so excited to see what goodies were hiding in them.  Later we found out my mom did this to catch 10 extra minutes of sleep on Christmas morning!tree

This week I asked a few girls about their own traditions and here’s what they had to say:

“I love all the holiday parties that happen this time of year!  I especially enjoy going to my Grandma’s for her Christmas celebration where she has Santa Clause come pass out gifts to the little ones.  Watching them open their presents and seeing the joy it brings them lights up my heart!  The love the holiday brings out in people is magical!”

“One of my favorite traditions is that my dad always puts on his “Now That’s What I Call Christmas” cd.  It has Christmas songs from Destiny’s Child and N’sync on it and we sing them together.” -Kim Sizemore

“I always make a point to always watch “It’s A Wonderful Life” at least once during the season.” -Nicole Reed
